"Aces of The Eighth" by Jack Fellows

My Grandpa’s a Fighter Pilot

(Tune: My Old Man’s a Refrigerator Repairman)

My grandpa’s a fighter pilot, whaddya think about that
He flew Corsairs in World War Two, he barely made it back
He shot down several Zeroes, and after he was done
He went back to Kentucky, ‘cuz he had a farm to run

And some day, if I can
I’m gonna be a fighter pilot just like that old man

My old man’s a fighter pilot, whaddya think about that
He flew F-4s in Viet Nam, he never made it back
For 12 long years he fought there, it’s where he met his wife
He settled in the Philippines to lead a quiet life

And some day, if I can
I’m gonna be a fighter pilot just like my old man

Now I am a fighter pilot, whaddya think about that
I flew the ‘Vark in Turkey, I flew it in Iraq
Now I fly the Viper, with missiles, bombs, and gun
And someday when he’s ready, I’ll give it to my son

And some day, if he can
He’s gonna be a fighter pilot just like his old man

And some day, if I can
I’m gonna be a fighter pilot just like my old man

And some day, if I can
I’m gonna be a fighter pilot just like that old man
