Merry Christmas to all!

  1. Bonnie and I wish all the Headhunters and Juvats around the world, especially our active Squadron on the ROK, a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years. Many thanks to Driver Mac for grabbing the reins of our Association and taking us forward. Thanks to Tex for a job well done, and more great thanks to Lude for his outstanding work setting up this website and keeping it at full OR. As Kirby used to tell me, “You did good—I’m doubling your salary!” Thanks again to you all.
To all our active duty Juvats: you are Juvats now, but never forget you are firstly Headhunters. Learn our/your rich history, and never forget our Squadron mates who have gone before us and earned our enviable reputation and passed it on to us. They were true heroes, many of whom unhesitatingly gave their all to ensure our country and way of life would survive. I was honored to know many of our WWII members—all fine people: Jay T. Robbins, Kirby, Paul Murphy, Lou Schreiber, Don MaGee, Jim Ince, Lou Saffro, “Corky” Smith, Norb Ruff, and many other icons of our Squadron and Fighter community.
Lastly, you may not know it now, but you are members of one of the best and finest Fighter Squadrons in the world. Treat it well and it’ll make you proud to be part of its continuing legacy. Join our Association and stay in contact with these people for the rest of your lives. You’ll understand the full meaning of this 50 Years from now. I do.
    Check 6,
    JayBird
