Darin, et al: Newsletter has been updated with the correction. Sorry for the confusion. Tex and Driver MacOn 9/17/2017 5:32 AM, Darin Pridham wrote:

Tex,

Thanks for forwarding the article to me. Driver and Gerry did a great job, thanks to them as well! My family and I read it with great interest. Of course it makes me wonder about all of the unanswered questions. I can only imagine the frustration of the men involved in the search, and in the squadron, when these things happened...especially when there was so much mystery involved.

I was on a small plane (commercial flight) some months ago over Leyte in the Philippines. The sky was that mix of towering plumes of gray in a thick haze that seems more common in the tropics... I was impressed to think that so many young men flew routinely in these conditions over open ocean with limited navigation aids.

I would definitely appreciate hearing from anyone who wants to share information with me concerning the 80th, particularly in WWII. I did note that my email address in the newsletter article had a typo and was missing the "96" after my name. It should read: darinpridham96@yahoo.com.

Thanks again for taking my question and running with it. It means a lot to me. If there is anything I can do to be of assistance to any of your members, please let me know. Keep in touch!

Darin
