Fortune Favors the Bold

From the jungles of World War II New Guinea, the Headhunters carved their name.  They were brave and they were fearless, downing Zeros was their game....

For more than 68 years, the Headhunters of the 80th Fighter Squadron have stood ready to wreak havoc on any enemy.  Whether flying the legendary P-38 Twin-Tailed Lightning or today's F-16 Viper, the Squadron typifies excellence.  With more than two hundred fifty one (251) air-to-air victories in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, making aces is the Squadron standard.

The 80th Fighter Squadron Headhunters' Association brings together the legends of past wars with the combat-ready warriors of today to celebrate the thrill of flying---and of victory.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill,
that we will pay any price, bear any burden,
meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe,
in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."
                                         ---John F. Kennedy (1917 - 1963)
35th President of the United States
